1. History of Homerton Heritage Walk

Time: 10:45am – 12:30pm

Meeting Point: Homerton Library

End Point: Homerton Library

Route: Homerton Library - Chat's Palace - Hackney Marshes - Wick Wood - Olympic Park edge - Mabley Green (4km)

Content: Participants will hear about the history of Homerton's Dissenters, celebrate its Carnegie library turned art centre (Chat's Palace) and see how Hackney Marshes is being used to make a greener Hackney. We'll also take a stroll up to the edge of the Olympic site and see what's new at the Queen Elizabeth II Park.

2. Library Open Day

Time: 1pm – 8:15pm

Stalls and daytime activities, 1 – 5pm:

Library information and membership stall, The Hackney Society, Vital EET Supplementary School, The Sharp End: Have a go Gardening

Kids: Face painting and Badge making: 1pm – 2pm, Storytelling: 2:15pm – 2:45pm

All: African Voice of the Djembe Drums: 3 – 4pm:The Vinyl Library (spinning 45’s): 4 – 5:30 in the foyer, 5:30 – 7 upstairs
