The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal.

The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal.

 

2019/1544 108 Cazenove Road N16 6AD Replacement of existing single-glazed timber framed windows with double-glazed uPVC framed windows. (Alix Hauser 020 8356 6377)

The Clapton CAAC objects to uPVC windows in this location. The profile is demonstrably different and will lead to a considerably less elegant appearance to the detriment of the streetscape and Conservation Area.

 

2019/1371 55 - 61 Cazenove Road N16 6PA Partial demolition of front boundary walls of No. 55-61 Cazenove Road and creation of one pavement crossover at the Alkham Road boundary, to provide vehicular access for 5 on-site parking spaces. (Kim Aukett 020 8356 4740)

The Clapton CAAC objects to this development which is likely to exacerbate - not help - considerable traffic issues in the area. The scheme is directly contrary to the Council's transport policy and encouragement of car-free developments. The proposal will result in the loss of actively used play space and garden. Although the quality of the space is currently poor it could easily be improved. The parking of cars in a garden, the crossovers and loss of garden wall are to the detriment of the streetscape.

 

2019/1224 80 Filey Avenue N16 6JJ Conversion of three self-contained flats into a single family dwellinghouse, including basement and ground floor rear extensions, excavation of basement and introduction of front and rear lightwells and elevational change on the rear elevation at upper floors. The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal overall but have some reservations about size of rear extension which exceeds guidance.

 

2019/1558 141 Rendlesham Road E5 8PA Erection of a ground floor rear wrap around extension. (Richard Kealey 020 8356 6469)

The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal.

 

2019/1542 48-50 Filey Avenue N16 6JJ Removal of existing timber single glazed sash windows and replaced with double glazed PVC-u casement windows. (Richard Kealey 020 8356 6469)

The Clapton CAAC objects to uPVC windows in this location. The profile is demonstrably different and will lead to a considerably less elegant appearance to the detriment of the streetscape and Conservation Area. The existence of neighboring properties with uPVC is not relevant not least because many pre-date the Conservation Area and in any event further erosion is not supported by policy. The Inspector upheld the council's refusal in a similar context (and where the windows better matched the original profile) at 56 Ichburgh Road

 

2019/1527 30 Jenner Road Basement Flat N16 7SA Erection of a lower ground floor single storey rear extension to the basement flat. (Richard Kealey 020 8356 6469)

The Clapton CAAC see no justification for extending beyond 3m of consented scheme, which is also in line with policy. If minded to grant permission, more detailed drawings should be secured.
