(FOR CONSULTATION PURPOSES: THIS IS A NEW APPLICATION SUBMITTED DUE TO I.T. ISSUES EXPERIENCED BY THE COUNCIL. COMMENTS SUBMITTED ON THE PREVIOUS APPLICATION CANNOT BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION). Full Planning Permission (Nick Bovaird)

Objection. Careful reading of this substantial application confirms that much of the information is very outdated. There are many references to the Holborn Studios “consented” site has never received consent. The whole adjacent premises at 49-50 Eagle Wharf Road are locally listed. The buildings are too high and out of keeping in mood with the immediate area. This application must be refused and a new application process employing current, lawful and accurate information should be commenced, starting with a new public consultation.

2021/0382 Unit 2, 15 Cottons Gardens, E2 8DN Certificate of lawfulness for the use of the existing unit as a self-contained residential flat (use class C3) for the last four years. Certificate of Lawful Development Existing/Proposed (Benjamin Coffie)

Objection. The Plant Noise Level Assessment by Aecom does not take into account the noise level that may occur during the night. This assesment should be in regards to a 24hr period.

2021/0537 Westland Antiques, St Michaels Church Mark Street, EC2A 4ER Erection of five storey (plus basement) building (Use Class E(g)) on land to north of the former church; works to former church including removal of existing internal structures and erection of new partial mezzanine floor and new entrances. (FOR CONSULTATION PURPOSES: THIS IS A NEW APPLICATION SUBMITTED DUE TO I.T. ISSUES EXPERIENCED BY THE COUNCIL. COMMENTS SUBMITTED ON PREVIOUS APPLICATION/S CANNOT BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION). Full Planning Permission (Nick Bovaird)

Objection. We find the loss of the view of the church building from Leonard St unacceptable. We suggest a reduction in the bulk and massing of the five story building to preserve as much as possible of the existing street view. The scheme will increase pressure on the Mark Street Gardens which is a much-needed tranquil amenity in this dense urban area. Having the Western entrance to the church reinstated will only add to this pressure. Has Hackney considered the impact of the scheme on the adjacent public gardens?

2021/0673 Valiant House, 67 - 71 Shoreditch High Street, E1 6JJ Advertisement consent for the installation of a projecting hanging sign, lettering above entrance and installation of grille. Advertisement Consent (James Clark)

Objection. Lack of information. infill of grille results in recess above the door being filled thus changing the proportions of the door element and architecture'.

2021/0660 Rivington Grill, 28 - 30 Rivington Street, EC2A 3DZ The proposed installation of external mobile seating, mobile planters, mobile waiters station, fixed awnings and wall lights. Full Planning Permission (Erin Glancy)

Strong objection. Structure would take up far too much pedestrian area and would also block off a lot of the building. Experience has also shown that mobile structurers are very rarely ‘mobile’.

2021/0821 Railway Arch 6 Commercial Street, E1 6BW Advertisement consent for the display of hand-painted murals Advertisement Consent (Erin Glancy)

Objection. Part of a listed structure and no clear examples.

2021/0928 2 - 4 Great Eastern Street, EC2A 3NW Installation of temporary scaffold shroud for a period of 12 months comprising 1:1 image of building facade and two externally illuminated inset advertising areas measuring 7.7m x 7.7m on the Shoreditch High Street (east) elevation and 7.6m x 7.7m on the Great Eastern Street (south) elevation. Advertisement Consent (Alix Hauser)

Objection. The site occupies a prominent and highly visible position in the Conservation Area and whilst we have no objection to the principle of decorative shroud screens during construction any advertising should be restricted in scale and / or to the development that is taking place. We are also not aware of any associated planning consent to undertake the proposed works, and so if permission is granted for the shroud (with a reduced / restricted advert) this should be clearly linked by condition to the relevant development consent.
