Stoke Newington CAAC August 2017

Planning Applications for Stoke Newington CAAC Monday 14 August 2017

2017/2287 196 Stoke Newington High Street N16 7JD Erection of extension at main roof level with associated terrace to provide an additional 1 bedroom flat at main roof level. (Louise Smith 0208 356 8061)

We object to the proposed extension which is grotesque. It is disproportionately out of scale with the host building, too prominent and the proposed materials do not match the existing roof nor are they in-keeping. We further note the application affects both 196 and 198 and not merely 196 as stated in the application address.

2017/2829 93 A Dynevor Road N16 0DA Demolition of existing building (currently in B8 use) and erection and excavation to provide a single storey building (plus basement) to be used as a library (Class D1). (Louise Smith 0208 356 8061)

We have no objection to the proposals provided a condition is attached requiring bricks to match existing.

2017/2613 Flat 2 The Quarters 94B Hawksley Road N16 0TJ Erection of single storey roof extension and provision of roof top terrace on existing roof. (Catherine Slade 020 8356 8056)

We have no objection to the proposals.

2017/2936 Ground Floor 129 Stoke Newington High Street N16 0PH Variation of Condition 6 (Use of Rear Garden) of planning permission ref. 2016/3263 dated 13/10/2016 for the 'Variation of condition 3 (opening hours) of planning permission ref. 2014/2170, dated 14/10/2014 for the change of use of ground floor (147m2) from pool club (D2 use class) to restaurant (A3 use class); Proposed hours: 10:00 to 00:00 (midnight) Mondays to Thursdays, 10:00 to 01:00 (1am) Fridays and Saturdays, and 12:00 to 00:00 (midnight) Sundays and Bank Holidays'. Variation is to allow the rear garden of the premises to be used by members of the public between 10:00 and 23:00 on any day. (Tim Wild 0208 356 8253)

We object to the application as the proposed use puts at risk the continued residential character of both the adjacent residential street and the flats above the High St shops.

2016/4603 325 Lordship Road N16 5HG Redevelopment of the site by the erection of a 10 storey plus basement building to accommodate 45 residential units together with an internal and external children's play area at ground floor level, car and cycle parking, refuse storage and plant and machinery rooms at bsement level, and a plant room at roof level. (Steve Fraser-Lim)

We have no objection to the proposals.

2017/2185 & 2017/2215 75 Stoke Newington Church Street N16 0AS Erection of garden room in the rear garden (Sissi Yang 02083561352)

We have no objection to the proposals provided officers examine the garden wall (which it proposed is partially rebuilt) and satisfy themselves that there is sufficient gap for the wall to be maintained in the future.

2017/2754 131-133 Stoke Newington High Street N16 0PA Display of internally illuminated fascia sign and internally illuminated projecting sign to the front of the property at ground floor level. (Nick Bovaird 0208 356 8291)

We object to the use of internally illuminated signs which are contrary to the Council's Shopfront Design Guide.

2017/2881 Flat C 167 Stoke Newington High Street N16 0NY Erection of raised main roof profile (increase pitch of front slope and raise ridge height); installation of two rooflights to new main front roof slope; erection of mansard-style extension to main rear roof incorporating two dormers and a rooflight. (Nick Bovaird 0208 356 8291)

We object to the application as we seriously doubt the intentions and practicability of the proposal as drawn, which creates a poor quality space. In reality we expect it will be built-out differently, potentially causing further harm to the integrity and appearance of the primary elevation. We also feel the raised ridge is of concern in relation to the appearance of the terrace.
