Hackney at risk

Overview

Hackney has 32 buildings on English Heritage's 'Buildings at Risk' register. The buildings include Pond House in Lower Clapton Road and the New Lansdowne Club in Mare Street.

The register (http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/publications/HAR_Register_London_2009/) brings together information on all Grade I and II* listed buildings, and Scheduled Ancient Monuments known to be 'at risk' through neglect and decay, or vulnerable to becoming so. In addition, London's Grade II listed buildings that are at risk are also included.

But it is not just listed buildings that need to be protected. There are also many locally listed buildings and mid-20th century buildings of historic importance that are also at risk of being demolished or not sympathetically refurbished.

We want to hear from you.
