Current voluntary roles

Architectural photographers

We are looking for people to help photograph the borough's 448 locally listed buildings. For more information email lisa@hackneysociety.org or visit 'Love Local Landmarks' section of our website.

Management Committee member

The committee meets every 6-8 weeks and needs more members. We are looking for people with expertise in HR, marketing, fundraising, planning and heritage and conservation issues.

Book sales

We need a volunteer to distribute our publications to bookshops, museums and libraries in Hackney and its borders.

Web editors

We are looking for individuals to edit and upload content to our new online building catalogue and our two websites The Hackney Society main site and From Fever to Consumption: the Story of Healthcare in Hackney.

Planning Sub-group

We are looking for Hackney residents or interested individuals to form a Planning Sub-group. This group will comment on large-scale planning applications outside of conservation areas. policy documents, local consultations. For more information visit the 'planning' section of our website.
