The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal.

The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal.

 

2018/0589 23 Ickburgh Road E5 8AF Conversion of single dwellinghouse into 2No. self-contained residential units, including erection of part single storey, part two storey rear extension over ground and first floor levels, excavation of basement to provide habitable accommodation including excavation of front light well, downward extension of front bay, and associated external works. For the purposes of consultation only, the proposed accommodation comprises 2No. three bed units. (Catherine Slade 020 8356 8056)

The Clapton CAAC objects to the mass and scale of the proposal and its awkward relationship to host building. We note the extension is twice the length of the consented scheme which we did not object to - 6m as opposed to 3m.

 

2018/0494 54A Clapton Common E5 9AL Demolition of existing buildings and erection of a seven-storey building at lower ground, ground and first to fifth floor levels to provide 16 self-contained residential units, adult Jewish Study Centre (D1) associated landscaping, cycle and refuse storage. Like the consented 2015/4019 we believe the ground floor needs further refinement to better enhance the building's relationship to the ground and its contribution to the domestic streetscape.

 

2018/1498 54-54A 54A Clapton Common E5 9AL Prior notification for the demolition of 54 and 54a Clapton Common (Duncan Ayles 020 8356 1922)

The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal.

 

2018/0697 St. Thomas Church Clapton Terrace E5 9BW Temporary change of use of part of the community hall attached to St. Thomas' church from D1 (non residential institution) to a florist studio (A1 shops). (Elliott Doumanis 020 8356 1804)

The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal.

 

2018/1045 60 - 62 Filey Avenue N16 6JJ Erection of part two storey, part single storey rear extension over basement and ground floor levels. To include alterations to internal layout, with waiting areas and circulation spaces, and alternations to No. 62 Filey Avenue providing new reception space. (amendments to 2015/4364). For the purposes of consultation only, the proposal includes the demolition of existing outbuildings and internal alterations to the existing building, and would provide extended Mikvah bath facilities including waiting and reception areas and circulation spaces (Catherine Slade 020 8356 8056)

The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal. However we lament the lost opportunity to improve the primary elevation of the host property.

 

2017/4823 8 C Stamford Grove West N16 6LJ Erection of part single storey, part two storey dwellinghouse over lower and upper ground floor and first floor levels (split levels) For the purposes of consultation only, the proposed accommodation would provide 1No. three bedroom, five person self-contained residential unit (Catherine Slade 020 8356 8056)

The Clapton CAAC has no objection in principle but note the unsatisfactory access route, hard by many windows in the existing flat.

 

2018/1248 112 Osbaldeston Road N16 6NJ Retrospective amendments to planning permission 2014/2865, to include the following alterations: replacement of rooflights on the ground floor extension with a succah roof, Juliet balcony at first floor level, and changed position of the staircase from upper ground level to the garden. The Clapton CAAC appreciates the arguments advanced for the juliette balcony but we are unconvinced by it - it is unnecessary and harms the character of the building. We not there are many other ways to access the roof for infrequent maintenance. In reality we feel a juliette balcony would end up becoming a roof terrace.

 

2018/1531 90 Osbaldeston Road N16 6NL Renovation of existing house, erection of rear extension at basement, ground and first floor levels, and excavation of the basement including the creation of a lightwell. (Saskia Wilson 020 8356 1804)

The Clapton CAAC objects to the proposal which is massive, overbearing and has no coherent relationship to anything around it. It would also result in a massive loss of the garden.

 

2018/1343 103 Osbaldeston Road N16 6NP Erection of a single storey rear roof dormer extension, front bay bonnet roof extension and installation of rooflights to front and side roofslope (Danny Huber 020 8356 1453)

The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal.

 

2018/1161 55-61 Cazenove Road N16 6PA Partial demolition of front boundary walls of No. 55-61 Cazenove Road and creation of two pavement crossovers, to provide vehicular access for 7 on-site parking spaces. (Nick Bovaird 0208 356 8291)

The Clapton CAAC objects to the proposal. There are no drawings so it is difficult to assess but we object in principle as it is contrary to Hackney's car-free policy and would significantly add to blight in an area where street parking and driving blight are a problem.

 

2018/1228 51 Maury Road N16 7BT Change of use of existing 7 bedroom single dwellinghouse into 3 bedroom self-contained flat (comprising the basement and part ground floor to accomodate 6 people) and a 6 bedroom HMO for 10 persons on the ground, first and second floors (Jeni Cowan 020 8356 1371)

The Clapton CAAC objects to the proposal which fails to overcome reasons for refusal of 2015/1228 and indeed seems to intensify it.

 

2018/1049 46 Fountayne Road N16 7DT Conversion of dwellinghouse to provide 2 self-contained residential units including excavation of front lightwell, excavation of existing basement to provide habitable accommodation, provision of single storey rear extension at basement level (including internal lightwell) and rear lightwell, and front and rear external stairs For the purposes of consultation only, the proposal would result in 1No. two bed residential unit and 1No. five bed residential unit (Catherine Slade 020 8356 8056)

The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal.

 

2018/1307 and 2018/1315 19 Sanford Terrace N16 7LH Remedial works consisting of the removal of extraneous outbuildings, replacement of rear garden gates, replacement of windows and doors on rear/side elevations removal of SVP, alarm box and skylight on front elevation, and the recovering of the slated roof pitches. The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposed scale but note the application lacks any meaningful detail. Further detailed design and materials should be secured by condition.

The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal. We are unable to assess the internal state, and put strong emphasis on the need for independent assessment to ensure no more work is proposed than is necessary and as much historic fabric as possible is retained.
