We object to this application: we feel that the railings should be set into the coping on the dwarf wall, and if necessary should have a backstay similar to the other properties in the terrace. There is no technical detail of the coping stone, which appears to be different to that on adjoining properties. We also recommend that before the slab paving is put down, the concrete should be removed so that paving can be laid with more exposed earth areas, permeable mortar, and therefore better drainage and aesthetic results.

We object to this application on several counts: a) The very large size and complicated fenestration of the proposed larger door on the upper ground floor of the rear elevation is unacceptable b) There is no detail given of the size, setting-in or finials of the proposed railings (NB this is not provided in the De Beauvoir Design Guide, which is quoted). We would also like it noted that De Beauvoir is Victorian and not Edwardian c) we feel that the proposed small window onto the stairwell on the rear elevation is oversized and therefore not in keeping.
