These leaflets are a set of walks, lasting one to two hours, through areas of particular interest in Hackney. Cost 60p, plus 50p p&p. To place an order email: bookorders@hackneysociety.org

Hackney Walk No. 8 'Clapton Common'

This circular walk, published in 2010, starts at St Thomas's Church and takes you round the suburb known as Upper Clapton.

Hackney Walk No. 7a 'Hackney Wick'

This circular walk, published in 2009, starts at Lea Bank Square in Hackney Wick and takes you through the industrial and sporting legacy of the area using poetry to inspire. For children and their families.

Hackney Walk No. 6 'Heart of Hackney'

This new walk follows a section of the old Market Porters Route along which produce from market gardens east of Mare Street was once transported to the city. The walk takes in Broadway Market, the Town Hall Square and a number of buildings to the north of the Town Hall.

Hackney Walk No. 5 'Kingsland and Dalston'

This circular walk, which starts at Kingsland High Street, traces a route through the old crossroad settlement of Kingsland and the hamlet of Dalston and explores the Victorian suburban developments of southern Shacklewell.

Hackney Walk No. 4 'Shoreditch and Hoxton'

This is a circular walk which starts at the crossroads of Shoreditch Church and passes through the old village of Hoxton to return again to Kingsland Road.

Hackney Walk No. 3 'Stoke Newington'

This walk which begins at Abney Park Cemetery, leads you down Stoke Newington Church Street and ends in Clissold Park.

Hackney Walk No. 2 'Central Hackney and Victoria Park'

This walk starts at the Grand Union Canal on Mare Street and takes you through Victoria Park, past Well Street Common, through a varied cross section of Hackney, and ends up back on Mare Street, at the Church of St. John-at-Hackney.

Hackney Walk No. 1 'Clapton, Springfield Park'

This walk starts at the Church of St. Thomas on Clapton Common, crosses into Springfield Park and goes down to the River Lea. It winds its way back to Clapton Common, pausing to reveal points of historical and current interest en route.

Barnsbury Walk (Islington)

This walk through Barnsbury covers an extremely attractive area of Regency and early Victorian London.
