Kingsland CAAC December 2023

Planning Applications for Kingsland CAAC meeting for December 2023

2023/2399 Outside 231 Kingsland Road, E2 8AN Advertisement consent for a Free-Standing Advertising CIP unit featuring double-sided digital displays Advertisement Consent (Erin Glancy)

We welcome the removal of the existing advertising unit and object to its replacement. Such advertising units clutter the street scene and provide a distraction to passing motorists and cyclists.

2023/2398 250 - 256 Kingsland Road, E8 4EB Advertisement consent for a Free-Standing Advertising CIP unit featuring double-sided digital displays Advertisement Consent (Erin Glancy)

We object to this application. The removal of the earlier version has reduced the street clutter and enabled clearer sight lines along the road. The installation of a new advertising unit would be a retrograde step. The frequently changing display would cause a potentially dangerous distraction to passing motorists and cyclists.

2023/1958 134 Southgate Road, N1 3HX Proposed works: The creation of a new paved path in the front yard; replacement of the windows on the front elevations; the installation of a new front door; and installation of a triple bin shed. Householder Planning (Jessica Neeve)

No objection

2023/2674 128 Southgate Road, N1 3HX Erection of a single-storey rear extension to replace existing; internal alterations Householder Planning (Thomas Russell)

We have no objection to the proposed extension but we do object to the lantern rooflight. The size of the lantern and the fact that the glazing is inclined will result in serious light pollution affecting the neighbouring properties.

2023/2678 128 Southgate Road, N1 3HX Erection of a single-storey rear extension to replace existing; internal alterations Listed Building Consent (Thomas Russell)

We have no objection to the proposed extension but we do object to the lantern rooflight. The size of the lantern and the fact that the glazing is inclined will result in serious light pollution affecting the neighbouring properties.

2023/2663 128 Culford Road, N1 4HU Erection of a single-storey rear extension and alterations to the lower ground floor (basement), together with the provision of a new window on the rear elevation at ground floor level in restored opening to match the original. Householder Planning (Jonathan Bainbridge)

We don't object to the proposed extension but we have serious concerns about the extent of the proposed roof lights which will cause extensive light pollution.

2023/2630 9 De Beauvoir Square, N1 4LG Alterations at first-floor level including to the rear bedroom to create a bathroom and shower room; retention of existing WC with altered position of toilet to be located beneath front window; Alterations at second-floor level including replacement of existing bathroom with a bedroom Listed Building Consent (Thomas Russell)

No objection.

2023/0876 First Floor And Second Floor Flat, 44 Mortimer Road, N1 5AP Proposed installation/raising of fence Full Planning Permission (Livi Whyte)

We object to this application. While we have sympathy with the applicant's desire for privacy and security all the other houses in the street have a low brick wall and open aspect. The proposed fence would be an anomaly.

2023/2577 13 Southgate Grove, N1 5BP The proposed alterations that constitute this application are: 1. Replacement of existing lower ground floor window with french doors. Householder Planning (Livi Whyte)

As a similar planning application was refused last year and nothing else appears to have changed we see no reason to overturn the decision.

2023/2493 Kings Wharf, 301 Kingsland Road, E8 4DS Non material amendment to planning permission ref 2021/2174 dated 19/03/2022 comprising amendments to the colour of the cladding Non-Material Amendment (Danny Huber)
