Clapton CAAC has no objection to this application but notes that the absence of glazing bars in the proposed bay windows - but present in the unaltered rear elevation - creates a rather blank effect.

Clapton CAAC has no objection to this application.

 

2021/3718 200 Millfields Road, E5 0AR Erection of a mansard-style roof extension; elevational alterations Householder Planning (Danny Huber)

Clapton CAAC restates the objection it made to the previous application for this site. The examples given in the six photographs on the fourth page of the D&A Statement are all to be found in the next block along Millfields Road. Two – numbers 172 and 182 – predate the establishment of the Conservation Area and may have been regarded as precedents for the later successful applications listed (182, 184, 186 and 192). The random and piecemeal effect of these roof extensions strengthens our opposition to the loss of the continuous unbroken line of the parapet of the block in which no. 200 is set.
