Kingsland CAAC December 2022

Planning Applications for Kingsland CAAC meeting for December 2022

2022/2679 512 Kingsland Road, E8 4AE Installation of temporary scaffold shroud for a period of 10 months comprising 1:1 image of building facade and externally illuminated inset advertising area measuring 5.9m high x 18.9m wide. Advertisement Consent (Danny Huber)

We have no objection but think that a lighter colour for the sky would be more acceptable.

2022/2608 Ripley And Lambert Ltd, Basement And Ground Floor, 542 Kingsland Road, E8 4AH Removal of rear window and replacement with render finish; installation of extract duct at rear; internal alterations including the installation of ducting; new fascia sign and awning Listed Building Consent (Gerard Livett)

While the existing uPVC window frame is obviously modern, the opening may be original and we object to the blocking up of this feature. This is also the only source of natural light in the kitchen. We also have concerns that there would appear to be 48 covers over two floors with only a single entrance/exit. Furthermore the stair from the basement leads up to the ground floor adjacent to the kitchen prep area. There would appear to have been insufficient thought given to the evacuation of the premises in case of fire and the provision of facilities for disabled customers.

2022/2861 Ripley And Lambert Ltd, Basement And Ground Floor, 542 Kingsland Road, E8 4AH Removal of rear window and replacement with render finish; installation of extract duct at rear; new fascia sign and awning Full Planning Permission (Gerard Livett)

2022/2624 41 Middleton Road, E8 4BJ Elevational alterations, comprising replacement windows to front and rear elevations; replacement doors and juliet balcony to rear elevation; enlargement of windows and doors to rear elevation at ground and first floor levels Householder Planning (Danny Huber)

We appreciate that the precedent for single paned sash windows has been set by numbers 33 and 35 but we feel that this proposal will precipitate a domino effect in Middleton Road. We have no objections to the proposed windows D/W 1 and 2 at the rear but we would prefer to see single paned sash windows rather than the proposed tilt and turn windows elsewhere.

2022/2684 139 Balls Pond Road, N1 4BG Replacement of concrete interlocking roof coverings with natural Welsh slate and associated roof works. Listed Building Consent (Gerard Livett)

No objection.

2022/2526 52 Northchurch Road, N1 4EJ Listed building consent for Demolition of existing rear extension and shed and erection of a two storey side and rear extension and single storey rear extension, landscaping and internal alterations Listed Building Consent (Raymond Okot)

This house has already been substantially extended and we are uncomfortable with the scale of the wrap around side/rear extension at upper ground floor level. We should like to see the side extension set back one metre from the front of the property. We are concerned at the proportions of the proposed window in the side extension at upper ground floor level and we find the double doors at lower ground level out of keeping with the style of the house.

2022/2612 81 De Beauvoir Road, N1 4EL Alterations to rear fenestration, creation of a door on the side elevation, installation of gate and railing to frontage, refuse and cycle stores, landscaping, internal alterations, and associated works. Listed Building Consent (Danny Huber)

We have no objection to the proposed changes but we wonder why the existing gate is being retained. We would like to see one which would harmonise with the new railings and gates.

2022/2572 94 De Beauvoir Road, N1 4EN Installation of externally illuminated fascia sign. Advertisement Consent (Jonathan Bainbridge)

No objection

2022/2661 94 De Beauvoir Road, N1 4EN The removal of existing gates and enclosure of existing undercroft to create a new building reception, including the installation of glazed doors and the erection of a canopy over the main entrance Full Planning Permission (Jonathan Bainbridge)

No objection

2022/2484 45 Buckingham Road, N1 4HY Construction of pergola to rear garden and new awning to ground floor rear and retention of railing gate to front driveway Householder Planning (Micheal Garvey)

We object to the gate and the railings. The finials are too small in proportion to the railings which should also be wider and more substantial to match those elsewhere in the Conservation Area. We have no objection to the pergola and the awning but we are seriously concerned about the amount of hard landscaping on the site.

2022/2604 Flat A, 80 Buckingham Road, N1 4JE T1-(Lime) - Reduce back to knuckle and sever Ivy around the base of the tree. Works to Tree with Preservation Order (Leif Mortensen)

2022/2202 4 De Beauvoir Square, N1 4LG Erection of single-storey outbuilding in rear garden [Note for consultation: Listed Building Consent application 2022/2205 also received] Full Planning Permission [Application Granted - Extra Conditions] (Gerard Livett)

We like the pavillion but hope that the applicant is using permeable material for the paved terrace to the rear of the house.

2022/2205 4 De Beauvoir Square, N1 4LG Erection of single-storey outbuilding in rear garden [Note for consultation: Planning application 2022/2202 also received] Listed Building Consent [Application Granted - Extra Conditions] (Gerard Livett)

We like the pavillion but hope that the applicant is using permeable material for the paved terrace to the rear of the house.

2022/2335 St Leonards Hospital Nuttall Street, N1 5LZ Installation of 2 No. External Condensers including pipework to external gable Full Planning Permission (Alishba Emanuel)

No objection

2022/2369 167 - 169 Kingsland Road, Hackney Change of use of part ground floor from Class E(e) (specifically doctors/dentist surgeries) to Class E and the change of use of the first and second floors from Class E(e) (specifically doctors/dentist surgeries) to Class C3 (residential) to 7 flats. Alterations to first floor windows to east elevation, and first and second floor west elevation and first floor south elevation. Full Planning Permission (Micheal Garvey)

We object to this application. The Kingsland Road elevation includes a double height glazed section that does not lend itself to a split as proposed, and which would have an adverse effect on the façade. We think this section should be retained in commercial use, maintaining a sense of balance to the building as a whole.

2022/2517 Ground Floor Front, 138 Kingsland Road, E2 8DY Installation of awning with signage. Advertisement Consent [Application Grant] (Catherine Nichol)

No objection
