We organise a wide range of talks, walks, guided tours and other events, as well as the annual Hackney History Festival each May.

Tickets range from free to £5 for members/£10 for non-members via our Eventbrite page.

Wikipedia Editing Workshop

Join us to learn how to create content on Wikipedia, a free-content online encyclopedia written and maintained by a community of volunteers. Trainers from Wikimedia UK will give an overview of Wikipedia editing, why it is important and help attendees to get started.

Celebrate the launch of the 2026 Hackney History Festival at Bootstrap! The Hackney Society are kicking off a month of events, talks, and workshops celebrating the borough’s rich heritage and culture with the opening preview of map exhibition ‘This Place Then’.
